Prepositions are usually followed by a noun or pronoun (e.g. in, on, at, near, beside). 3. Prepositions are used to indicate location, time, direction, or other relationships. 4. Prepositions are an important part of English grammar and help to clarify the meaning of a sentence. Unit 8: Conjunctions 1. Conjunctions are words that connect words, phrases, or clauses in a sentence. 2. There are three main types of conjunctions: coordinating conjunctions, subordinating conjunctions, and correlative conjunctions. 3. Coordinating conjunctions are used to connect words or phrases of equal importance (e.g. and, but, or). 4. Subordinating conjunctions are used to connect dependent clauses to independent clauses (e.g. because, if, although). 5. Correlative conjunctions are used in pairs to connect elements of equal importance within a sentence (e.g. both...and, either...or, neither...nor). 6. Conjunctions are essential for building complex sentences and conveying relationships between different parts of a sentence.
